Prayers, Pain and Papa!!!

As many of you know, my Dad(Papa) is having double bypass surgery tomorrow. He has had trouble for some time now and after having 3 stents the Dr.'s decided that he needed double bypass surgery. It's hard to watch as a man who all of his life has had this rough and tough exterior hurt from the pain within. My dad is a hard working, do it yourself if you want it done right kind of person who always made sure that we had what we wanted. It's so hard to see the man who is afraid of nothing be scared and in pain. So all I know to do is give it to God and ask that he keep him on this earth so Avery can see all the great things I have seen in him. We love you Papa....

My little Ladybug

Ok,so I know it's been almost a month since I've updated but the good thing is I have lots to update about. So let's see........we had Avery's one year doctor checkup and she is a whopping 21.3lb healthy little girl. Believe it or not she is in the higher percentile in height so I'm praying she takes after Chad and not her Mommy. She now will repeat No back to you when you tell her No....she thinks it's funny not so much for me and Chad when your trying to get a point across. She loves to do patty cake and tries to sing along, waves Bye Bye to everyone as we leave daycare every day and now cries everyday when you leave her. She was sick this past week and I can say I have officially been thrown up on. Yucky, I know but she was surprisingly calm about it now me on the other hand would like to have freaked out but after seeing her I decided I better say calm as well. She's much better now and we decided to have a little Halloween fun last night. So here is a recap of last night..........

My little Ladybug!!! Last year she was a Banana so we went with a insect this year!

Suppose to be eating dinner but GiGi wanted to play with her Halloween gifts!!

Giving Aunt Angela kisses for her present. She loves her!!!

Happy Halloween from the Alexander's!!!!!

So I promise not to wait so long for my next post. Avery is having her pictures made this Wednesday so I'm sure I'll have a interesting post about that trip. Oh, and we bought a potty today!! I know your probably thinking your crazy she's only 13 months old but I've been told by her daycare teacher and Aunt Angela that they think she's ready...You'll have to wait for a post on the potty story later. Wish us luck!!!

Meet Jack!!!!

Avery is now the proud owner of a donkey, meet Jack!!!! I came home from work on Friday to find out that my Dad(Papa) had purchased Avery a donkey. I took her over to his house today to introduce her to her new friend. I have to say she loved him but I'm not sure I can say the feeling is mutual. He is only 3 months old and had never been handled until Dad bought him. We sat Avery on him(my dad holding her of course) and he tried to buck a little but Avery loved it. So every time he would set her on him he would take off but Avery just giggled and laughed. She loved it!!! He's so cute and little. She didn't know what to think of his big ears, but really wanted to touch them. Here are some pictures from their first day together.

Party with my Peeps!!!

So we had to include all her friends in on the birthday celebration so I sent cupcakes to daycare. I didn't send party hats even though I really wanted to but I didn't know if they might be a choking hazard. (I was just trying to be a responsible parent) So her teacher made them all crowns to wear. She's great!! Two of the kids(twins) have been with Avery since she was in the baby room so we consider them to be best friends. Oh, and I promise a party post will be coming in the near future just waiting on pictures. So stay tuned~

Birthday Bash!!!!

Avery has now officially had her first birthday party and might I add her Mommy is still worn out! There was 35 people to help us celebrate and tons of presents for Avery. We are very blessed and grateful for all the great family and friends we have. Everything went perfect but of course there were a few things I forgot like having her birthday crown on when she ate her cake and then realizing I hadn't ask anyone to film for us. Her Uncle Dusty and my Aunt Dayna took all the pictures so we will have tons to look at to remember the day. So to all who attended thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! We love each and every one of you and thank you for making Avery's party so special! Enjoy~

Happy First Birthday Avery!!!!!!

At 4:47p.m. today Avery is now offically 1!!!!! We had such a great day but I have to say all 3 of us are worn out. First thing this morning Avery woke up to a Birthday pancake breakfast.......

Then we got her dressed in her Birthday Girl shirt and gave her the first present of the day.....A sliver and gold bracelet with her name on it. Then it was off to Little Rock.......

So we arrived at Build-A-Bear and was greeted by the nicest worker ever....first we had to pick out what bear she wanted so we stuck two in front of her and she picked.

Then we stuffed him, gave him a heart but he got two b/c Avery wouldn't pick one so she said he was getting one heart from Mommy and one heart from Daddy. Too cute!!! Next we gave him a bath, dressed him and named him.....

So meet the new addition to the Alexander household.....Gus Alexander!!!
He's offical we have a birth certificate and all!!!

We headed to Red Lobster to have lunch and had the best waitress who wanted to have all the workers sing Happy Birthday but we thought it might scare her. So she sang to her and brought her extra mashed potatoes. I have been wanting to go to Babies R Us so we headed there and looked around for a little while and headed home. Here's Avery and Gus on the way home.

So tonight it was time for cake and she sure dug right in and didn't waste any time. We just got her a little one for tonight and then on Saturday at her party she will have her offical first birthday cake.

So now Avery and Gus are asleep and it's back to daycare and work tomorrow. I hope Avery enjoyed her day as much and Chad and I did. I'm a little sad that she's already one but I can't wait for all the new things in the next year to come. Her party is on Saturday so we are getting ready for that and are so excited. Sorry that this post is so long but I wanted to capture every little detail of the day. This is a day that I will remember for the rest of my life and will treasure forever. So Happy Birthday Avery we love you very much!!!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy
