Haircut & Horsey

We actually had a pretty busy week. To start the week off Avery's Pepaw came over for a visit on Tuesday night. He came over and had dinner with us and then watched Avery get a bath before bedtime.

Then on Thursday night Nana and Papa came over and took Avery to my Uncle Jerry's house to pick up a set of chinks he made her. They are perfect and she looks absolutely adorable in them. I can't wait to get some pictures of her and Papa together with his on. So while they were here I decided it was time for Avery's first haircut. Since Nana is a beautician it was no problem. I really wouldn't call it a hair cut we just snipped some long hairs off the top that were constantly in Avery's eyes. So here she is getting the hair snipped and her with her new chinks.

Nana and Papa wanted Avery to come stay Saturday night at their house so we let her. She has a giddy up and go pony over there but we had not got to see it yet so I took some pictures of her riding it. She's too little to make it go but give her a little time and she'll get the hang of it I'm sure.

So now Avery's in bed, Chad and I just got done watching the Duggar wedding on TV and it's off to another week of work and daycare. We'll for some of us, Chad is officially a house husband at least for a little while. He is hoping to do some welding jobs while he is off and hopefully he won't be off for too long. He really helped out a lot around the house last week so it's kind of nice. Since our dog Lola doesn't make it on the blog much I thought I would post a picture of her on here. She will always be our first baby. Till next time.......

Grandmothers

We had to say good bye to Chad's grandmother this past week. We got the call last Sunday morning that Granny Millie had passed away. Unfortunately Avery only got to see twice since she lived in Texas. Chad and I left early Monday morning and made the trip to Texas to say our goodbyes. She will be deeply missed and I hate that Avery will grow up not remembering her. She had rheumatoid arthritis and we are thankful that she is no longer hurting. Here is a picture of Avery's first visit with her....

Thankfully Avery was able to stay with her GiGi while we were in Texas. I am so thankful that we have family so close to help in situations like these. Speaking of GiGi she has a birthday tomorrow. So Happy Birthday and we love you very much!!! I'll be nice and won't mention the age. Here is Avery and her GiGi.....

If you will please keep us in your prayers...we found out this past week also that Chad will officially be layed off from work on Wednesday for 60-90 days. And we are not even for sure they will open back up. 2009 has not started out very well for us and we pray that it will eventually get better. I know that God will never give us more than we can handle so we are trying to stay positive.

1st post of 2009

So I know it has been literally forever since I've updated and hopefully we still have a couple of faithful readers who still what to know what's going on with the Alexanders. Since I haven't updated in a very long time I promise I won't make this to painfully long. So let's start with Thanksgiving....

Here is a little family picture at Angela and Dusty's house. We started the day out there and then went to Danville to see my Dad. Update on him: After having quadruple bypass yes you read that right. We thought he was only having a double but once he was out of surgery we found it they had done 4. Unfortunately he had some complications and it got pretty scary there for awhile but he pulled through and is now getting back to his ornery self. So thanks for all the prayers and phone calls to check on him. We thank God everyday that he was watching and protecting him through the whole process. So hopefully in a couple of months he will be back to doing all of his normal things. Now on to Christmas.......

Here is our little Rudolph. She is so much fun! Even though she hated the antlers I got one quick picture. So now on to Christmas Day.....

Can you say spoiled rotten but very much loved!!! Avery had a great Christmas and I have to say I think we all did. Santa, Mommy & Daddy, Gigi & James, Papa & Nana and Aunt Angela and Uncle Dusty were very good to Avery this year. I've been spending the last week try to find a spot in our house for all of this stuff. We also had a very fun New Years. Avery went and stayed with her Nana and Papa for the night so Chad and I could go out. I am getting way too old to stay out that late, I'm still tired. This past year has been filled with many great memories some stressful(like dad's surgery) but mostly all good. My resolutions for the year are to lose weight(my 10 year class reunion is this year so you know...), save money and to at least blog on here once a week!!! I hope everyone had a great holidays and the best year ever to come. Thanks for reading and until next time........
